About the Space

The cleaning and disinfection process required to prepare for our next guests is time consuming. Thus, we politely request that our current guests check out promptly at 10am on the morning of check-out. We hope that you understand that we cannot accommodate late check-out or early check-in requests.

Once you check-in, please take the time to walk through the home and let us know if you have any concerns or questions about the amenities or locating items.

We need to give our cleaning crew ample time to prepare the home and grounds for your awesome beach vacation. Parking is limited and our cleaning crew will be utilizing the driveway for the home as they clean. Therefore, if you arrive early we would ask that you park on the street until check-in time. There are several restaurants and bars within waking distance and we invite you to soak up the sun and local food while you wait. Your patience is appreciated.

Our House Rules are just a reminder of some common sense things to be aware of during your stay.  We ask that there is No Smoking, No Drugs and No Parties held in our space.

Also, there is a local noise ordinance, establishing quiet hours between 10pm-8am. The town will ticket guests and hosts for noise that disturbs the peace, so we take this very seriously and it is one of the few things that can get your reservation cancelled mid-stay.

Please take the time to read our Midway house rules here.

Our home uses smart locks with door codes created for your stay. Click here to view directions or troubleshoot those beeps!

Smart Lock Instructions

We have provided you a door code, so that you don’t have to keep track of house keys. The code is active for your entire stay and will deactivate at your check-out time. The code works the front door, the back door and the laundry room door.

To use the code, press the Yale logo or put your hand on the Yale screen, this will wake up the lock. Then enter your code and press the check mark in the lower right hand corner. If successful, you will hear a beep and hear the deadbolt unlock. To lock the door from the outside, simply close the door firmly and press the Yale logo (indicated above in yellow circle). You should then hear the deadbolt lock. To lock the door from the inside, turn the deadbolt knob. Do not touch the Yale logo button on the interior of the lock as this will set a door activity alert.

Crazy Beeping of the Lock:

  1. Please pull door closed all the way before throwing the deadbolt or trying to lock the door from the outside. If the door is not completely closed, the lock will jam and beep.
  2. If you enter the code incorrectly, the door lock will beep a warning and disable itself for 1 minute. Please wait and try again.
  3. There is a Schlage button on the inside of the lock. If you or a child accidentally pressed this, it will activate a door alarm which will chirp each time you use the door. Press and hold the button for 6 seconds to shut off this door alert tone.
  4. The door lock is set to alert if someone attempts to tamper with the lock or break-in. These should be loud, shrill beeps to get your attention.

Is The Door Beeping??

You have either entered your code incorrectly or have accidentally pressed the Yale button on the interior side of the lock.

AC & Heat Information

Our house features heat and central air conditioning. There is a thermostat on the wall in between the living room and kitchen, which controls AC/heat on the first floor.  We have preset the AC temperature at 70 degrees for your stay.  However, if you would like to make it warmer or turn the air off, then you can do so with the directions below. Please do not put the AC lower than 68 degrees.

Thermostat instructions:

  1. Press the Mode button to cycle to the next available System mode - AC or Heat.
  2. Cycle through the modes until the required System mode is displayed and leave it to activate. ‒ Auto: Thermostat selects heating or cooling as needed.  ‒ Heat: Thermostat controls only the heating system. ‒ Cool: Thermostat controls only the cooling system. ‒ Off: Heating and cooling system is off. Fan will

Let nature in: There will be times during your stay when the outside temperature is cooler than inside the house. We are a block from the beach and the breeze should jet through the house if you open the doors/windows for a quick cool down.

Close it up: Do not run the AC while keeping doors and windows open. This drives up our utilities unnecessarily and makes the cost of future stays more expensive.
